Description

The Violin or Fiddle as it is known in Traditional Irish music arrived in Irelandvia Europearound the 17th century.

It was played in orchestras and quartet’s in stately homes of the rich where it found its way into the hands of the irish peasantry.

It was not long before it became the favoured instrument.

Because of its sweet tones, it is the closest to the human voice the was therefore easily adapted to the traditional music of the countryside.
